Heritage Trail

As from April 2022 we are pleased to announce there will be a Heritage Trail around Llanwrtyd Wells

Many of the locations in the town have an interesting history and walking the Heritage Trail is an excellent way of learning about Llanwrtyd Wells and taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Whether you undertake the Town Walk (about 1 mile taking approximately 45 mins) or the Country Walk (about 2 miles, taking 90 mins) we hope that you will enjoy some of what our small town has to offer.

Each location is marked with an informative plaque and waymark signs are provided to help you follow the route.

We would encourage people to first visit the Heritage Centre and collect a brochure which gives information about the locations and a map of the route.

We are particularly pleased to offer a Children’s Trail which follows the same route as the main trail but has been developed to encourage children to learn about the history by ‘finding the frogs’ around the town. A special Children’s brochure is available from the Centre which details their trail, along with puzzles and questions which can be answered by following the route and then on return to the Centre they will be given a gift for the successful completion of the booklet.

Trail brochures are available in both Welsh & English.

Brochures are also available from dispensers by the door when the Centre is closed.

This project has been funded by the National Lottery Fund
